I used mop and glow to coat the inside of the ornament and then added glitter. For the outside, I cut out the letters I wanted using Ashlyn's Alphabet and applied to the outside of the ornament. Then I spray painted the ornament. I then hot glued the wooden peg into the ornament. I used an exacto knife and removed the vinyl so that the glitter showed through. Add a bow and hang on your Christmas tree.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-x5USWC0PjdU/TtwqICWt5iI/AAAAAAAAAVc/NviU18w82Ok/s400/DSC_7977.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5682463147394197026" />
I dated the back of the ornament.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CXu3LWAoJ_o/TtwqJLkGJvI/AAAAAAAAAV0/BECmCYBVpNI/s400/DSC_7974.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5682463167046100722" />
This is just a regular ornament made the same way as above.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gZbOZT1z9M0/TtwqI7B8j3I/AAAAAAAAAVk/wOg8pajkcT0/s400/DSC_7973.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5682463162607898482" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1Vl0yPrcimo/TtwqJkB_4UI/AAAAAAAAAV8/snsKgJk1YfU/s400/DSC_7972.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5682463173613969730" />
This idea I saw on Pinterest.
I made this memory board for a college student to hang over her desk at school. The picture frame was purchased at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section for $11.00. I sanded it down and painted it black. Since there was no back on the frame I used a display board and cut it to size. Next I covered the display board with cork so that stick pins could also be used. I then layered the cork with a thin layer of batting and covered it with 1 yard of material.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eoUMBBZdwpw/TkV_gNnIOGI/AAAAAAAAAU0/-ugZqfxi-1Q/s400/DSC_7550.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5640054299737733218" />
I used hot pink ribbon for the stripping with black buttons sewed all the way through the layers. Add some embellishments and it turned out really cute.

This post is for “My Pink Stamper Design Team” Challenge. It was the perfect challenge because I needed to make a baby shower present and the challenge colors are the colors being used in the nursery. I’m posting this a day before the shower, so SHHHH…

Here is the challenge:
Make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge using the following colors......

Orange
Turquoise
Green
Brown
(other optional color of your choice)

With this in mind I crocheted a baby blanket in turquoise. When I give a blanket away I put it in a box that matches for safe keeping when it is not being used. I purchased a box from Michael’s that has a magnetic closure on it.

I painted the edges of the box with turquoise paint. Then with spray adhesive I applied 12x12 scrapbook paper all around the box. After all was completely dry, I used brown ink to ink the edges to give the box an antique look. Then for finishing touches I added some ribbon and a bow.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RMSEA0aP_GY/TicatTLtIKI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/a4K3xgVUDTY/s400/2.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5631499224595898530" />

I added large turquoise beads found in the beading section at Michaels for feet.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QRfqSFl7rEA/TicatHvzoVI/AAAAAAAAAUI/BntiVw5FoxM/s400/3.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5631499221526094162" />

Using Rock Princess cricut cartridge I cut out the shadow of the crown on row 2 and embellished it with clear stones. I did not attach it to the top of the box because it will be the tag for the gift. After presenting the gift, the crown will then be adhered to the top of the box for additional embellishment.

Here is a picture of the blanket:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fv-DmvJ_4is/TicasoOyW9I/AAAAAAAAAUA/OBo-Ph21I4g/s400/4.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5631499213066099666" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3iC4TeUDpH8/TicasFOQxeI/AAAAAAAAAT4/rHTaNS_0Fhg/s400/5.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5631499203668657634" />

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog today!Becky Roperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11414924562942242896noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716895968183542054.post-2125592539992239162010-11-17T00:01:00.000-08:002010-11-17T00:01:01.868-08:00Picture Frame<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TOHMTO88ZXI/AAAAAAAAATU/LZKtoQXziUo/s400/DSCN0430.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539933647445714290" />

Hello to all the Sassy Lady followers and Happy Thanksgiving! Today I'm getting another opportunity to play at the Sassy Lady's blog. First of all I would like to apologize for not having a cricut related posted for today but I had to have an unexpected minor surgery a couple of weeks ago. I am recovering really well, but I haven't had the energy to really do a lot of designing or crafting lately.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TOHMSuWeT-I/AAAAAAAAATM/XGXpXaCfZOY/s400/DSCN0426.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539933638694424546" />
I purchased this frame at Hobby Lobby a few months back without any real plans for it. First I painted it off white. I added some decorative paper to the front and then distressed it with Tim Holtz distressing ink.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TOHMTO88ZXI/AAAAAAAAATU/LZKtoQXziUo/s400/DSCN0430.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539933647445714290" />
To finish it off I added a little bling and some prima flowers and it turned out really cute.

I hope you try this very simple and easy to make project and share your ideas with me. Sheila is so sweet to allow me to post on her blog. You will definately want to hop over there and see all the wonderful creations that Sheila and all her talented designer post each day.

I ordered the imagine back in September when HSN had it as the special value of the day. When it came in I was sick and wasn't able to play with it for about three weeks. After opening it up and starting to learn more about it, I fell in love. I wanted to try something different so I started looking around the house and found two baby onsies that needed some attention.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TLuhJr0zwKI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/W24HsRrjtTM/s400/DSCN0383.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529190155282530466" />
So I thought I would try transferring an image printed by the imagine onto the onsies.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TLuhJ7QjHlI/AAAAAAAAARE/ZrAUBbwJIFc/s400/DSCN0386.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529190159425412690" />
I started by doing a test print onto card stock to make sure I got the sizing correct. The final size I decided on was 2.5 inches.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TLuhKp202mI/AAAAAAAAARU/pHPDi_TJ3cg/s400/DSCN0388.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529190171933989474" />
On the imagine I flipped the image before printing. I printed and cut the images using the Nursery Tails cartridge onto Avery Light Fabric transfer paper purchased at Wal-Mart.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TLuhLFQJpRI/AAAAAAAAARc/YtBTYrUWN9k/s400/DSCN0389.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529190179287966994" />
Iron the images onto the onsies with the iron set on cotton setting using dry heat. Allow the image to cool for two minutes and peel off the paper backing.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TLz0XthzVZI/AAAAAAAAATE/sf6POZc-Elc/s400/DSCN0414.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529563130699666834" />
I wanted some bling so I bought the i-rock heat setting tool. I have to say that the instructions were not quite clear enough for me because I left the heat tool on the stone to long and actually burnt the first one I attempted. After making that mistake I realized that all you really need to do is touch the heat tool to the stone for just a second and remove it. That technique worked much better and I was able to finish applying my bling without any more burns.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TLz0XMidmBI/AAAAAAAAAS8/ieir9FlPgag/s400/DSCN0413.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529563121844066322" />
This is actually the one that I burnt but you can still see how adorable it turned out.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TLz0WwUMkLI/AAAAAAAAAS0/sf1BqNjbNyk/s400/DSCN0410.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529563114268037298" />
My second attempt at adding bling worked perfectly.

I had so much fun using my imagine and the i-rock heat tool that I can now think of a thousand things to add bling too. Don't forget to leave me a comment and tell me how you will use this idea and make it your own. Halloween is a fun holiday to decorate for. You know I love to make a feather boah wreath so I started with two purple boah's. Start by wrapping them around a round styrofoam wreath.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TLukK_pfGdI/AAAAAAAAASc/aSv11U7dNsY/s400/DSCN0407.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529193476318501330" />
Using Happy Haunting's cartridge, cut out several images of your choice. I like to cut several layers and the back piece from chip board so that the images are not flimsy.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TLukKeZdnII/AAAAAAAAASU/1YwJEd2aaUQ/s400/DSCN0406.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529193467392924802" />
I also like to hot glue small clothes pins to the back of the images. It's always an honor to be able to share my projects with such a wonderful group of people.

For my project today I decided to make a goody bag. I found the cutest paper by The Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby with monkeys on it. So lets get started.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwiN4IVGgI/AAAAAAAAAPI/0IuRXIfkqG0/s400/DSCN0347.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515821265422981634" />
Start by cutting the following size chipboard pieces. 2-4.5 x 5, 3-4.5 x 2.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwiOGBgwlI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/8cx9Xu6iUrk/s400/DSCN0350.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515821269152481874" />
Then I cut brown cardstock in the following dimensions: 5-9.5 x 4.75. I scored it at 2.5 and 6.5.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwiOgybvuI/AAAAAAAAAPY/_3TezgiwmNg/s400/DSCN0351.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515821276336996066" />
Fold the cardstock pieces and secure together with double sided tape or hot glue.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwiPBYqWQI/AAAAAAAAAPg/XFefYiqkXyY/s400/DSCN0352.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515821285087271170" />
Then using double sided tape or hot glue secure the 5 pouches together so that it ends up looking like this.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwiP_KrRdI/AAAAAAAAAPo/vBsloAcZnqg/s400/DSCN0353.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515821301671609810" />
I laid out my chipboard to measure the length for the cover. Make it at least 1.5 inches longer and wider than your chipboard. I wanted some contrast so I used the monkey paper and cardstock at the top so that the flap would contrast with the bag.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwjuNk4e4I/AAAAAAAAAP4/eaYBC2lRSh4/s400/DSCN0354.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515822920447327106" />
With the cover upside down lay out the chipboard with a small space between each piece for folding. Using double sided tape on the edge of the chipboard wrap the cover around all sides of the chipboard. Then measure the inside of the bag and cut a piece of decorative paper and secure to the inside.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwjupT0gYI/AAAAAAAAAQA/vSb2RTYntjU/s400/DSCN0355.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515822927891956098" />
Using double sided tape or hot glue secure the pouches to the inside of the bag.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwjvVeYzSI/AAAAAAAAAQI/iC5o-Q70DOc/s400/DSCN0356.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515822939747437858" />
I added a magnetic clasp to the cover, ribbon and a monkey charm. I then distressed the entire bag with Tim Holtz distressing ink.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwjv-jPe8I/AAAAAAAAAQQ/BhswCm55s8Y/s400/DSCN0358.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515822950773652418" />
I stamped the very top of the bag with "Sending You a Great Big Hug" stamp.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwkhVZ4H7I/AAAAAAAAAQg/W3j46onsbNs/s400/DSCN0361.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515823798721978290" />
Using the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge, I cut a tag, added the same ribbon as I used on the bag and another monkey charm. Then stamp a sentiment of your choice onto the front.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TIwkg_maJeI/AAAAAAAAAQY/fgloXsZiFRM/s400/DSCN0359.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515823792868959714" />
I'll be filling the bag with some type of goodies and hopefully it will make somebody smile when they get it.

Thank you again Sheila aka She's A Sassy Lady for allowing me to come play today.Becky Roperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11414924562942242896noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716895968183542054.post-24001740533960776942010-08-28T17:32:00.000-07:002010-08-28T18:01:45.551-07:00Cricut Cut Swap<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/THmuN6rIhgI/AAAAAAAAAO4/fdyhURhaxSw/s400/DSCN0342.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510627173176215042" /> I'm participating in my first Cricut cut swap. The theme is winter so I decided to do a snowflake. I used the "When it's Cold Outside" seasonal cartridge to cut the snowflake. The size is 3.5 inches.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/THmuMr0hoeI/AAAAAAAAAOg/1Q1eT7Ema5A/s400/DSCN0340.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510627152009208290" /> After cutting out all 15 snowflakes, I ran them through the Xyron.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/THmuNGgM72I/AAAAAAAAAOo/7KmacGOz6Q8/s400/DSCN0337.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510627159171723106" /> I then sprinkled Martha Stewart white glitter onto the snowflakes.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/THmuNZNAPbI/AAAAAAAAAOw/q1X6UF_A0ck/s400/DSCN0343.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510627164191473074" /> Added blue rhinestones.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/THmuN6rIhgI/AAAAAAAAAO4/fdyhURhaxSw/s400/DSCN0342.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510627173176215042" /> I attached the snowflakes to a card with a pop dot and the inside of the card had "The Meaning of the Snowflake" by Holley Gerth typed in it. I'm including the poem below:

The Meaning of the Snowflake
Every new snowflake comes to the earth
as a picture of our Savior's birth
because they are sent from up above
and remind us of God's care and love.
Each one is so intricate and small
because Christ sees the details of us all,
and just as two are never the same
the Lord knows and calls us each by name.
Snowflakes gently cover the world in white
and hide what's unlovely from our sight,
showing us how He covers our sin
and gives us His grace when we come to Him.
So may every snowflake bring Christ to mind
and in every bit of white may you find
a reason to celebrate anew
and a reminder of His love for you.
-Holley Gerth
Thanks for visiting my blog today. Well summer is winding down and fall will be upon us shortly. I'm really looking forward to fall this year. I'm excited about all the fun things that are happening at She's a Sassy Lady. There has been a lot of fantastic talent added to our design team and I'm looking forward to what is in store for us this winter. I can't wait.

Now, let's get down to business. I have had several events lately where I needed to cut vinyl. So I researched kiss cutting vinyl and practiced until I figured out exactly how to kiss cut it correctly.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TGiBUPGrndI/AAAAAAAAAOA/zoktK0BKBEg/s400/DSCN0332.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5505792729112354258" />
I purchased this water bottle on sale at Wal-Mart for $1. I needed a gift for a 30th anniversary at work and thought it would be great to add initials to it.

I started by putting lots of circles on my gypsy and then adding the initial K (for Karen) at the end.

I used the Gypsy font for the letter K. I got the perfect kiss cut by setting the pressure at medium and the blade depth at 4.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TGiBURfLZcI/AAAAAAAAAOI/ch0M-q3gIxg/s400/DSCN0334.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5505792729751971266" />
Here is the vinyl after peeling off the excess. The kiss cut was PERFECT!

I applied the polka dots and the initial to the water bottle and came up with this really cute gift.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TGiBUlphHsI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/eZixmEHuSOI/s400/DSCN0335.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5505792735164047042" />
Thank you Sheila for allowing me to come over and post on your blog today. I'm extremely honored to be amongst such a fabulous team of designers.

Please leave me a comment and let me know how you will decorate your next project with vinyl.Becky Roperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11414924562942242896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716895968183542054.post-18335692879049249252010-07-21T00:01:00.000-07:002010-07-21T07:28:08.724-07:00Gift Box<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUB1PYSoRI/AAAAAAAAAMs/rCSNNhmKauI/s400/DSC_7094.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495800934448668946" />
Hi all, I hope you are all having a great summer, it's been a busy one for me. So let's get started, first I want to thank Sheila, aka Sassy Lady, for giving me the opportunity to share with you something that has a very special meaning to me. Today I would like to share with you a box that I made for my niece's wedding and a small gift to go inside.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUCM10NOnI/AAAAAAAAAM0/g9f7JQQQils/s400/DSC_7074.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495801339903294066" />
I started with a paper mache' box purchased from Hobby Lobby. I added little wood feet called Candle Cup that I also purchased from the wood section at Hobby Lobby.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUDSNApeBI/AAAAAAAAAM8/xgRJpoX0UN0/s400/DSC_7075.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495802531540465682" />
Using the French Manor cartridge and Cricut Cuttables, Adhesive-backed Stencil Material, I cut out a stencil for the top of the box. The size was 2.5 inches and I set the pressure on high, blade at 5 and multi-cut at 4.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUDSsMEDfI/AAAAAAAAANE/BllPT8VUoiM/s400/DSC_7076.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495802539909844466" />
I cut another stencil for the front and two sides of the box using the border function. The size is 1 inch, multi-cut at 3, blade at 5, pressure at max and speed at slow.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUGJOPzvzI/AAAAAAAAANM/-uIB-Bfn6Y0/s400/DSC_7077.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495805675788549938" />
I laid the stencil on the box and then added Spackling Paste. The paste is very rough so you will need to smooth the paste as much as you can with a trowel. The top of the box had a few sections where the paper had separated so I added paste around the edge to seal up the seams.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUGJrXlopI/AAAAAAAAANU/we_hlA4AOhU/s400/DSC_7081.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495805683605807762" />
Remove the stencil and allow the paste to dry. After the paste dries, lightly sand so that your image is completely smooth.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUN3t427uI/AAAAAAAAANs/yvkC4Duz2J0/s400/DSC_7088.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495814171137601250" />
I then painted the box using Anita's Acrylic paint in Cream. After the box dried I added delta paints in Village Green and Think Pink. When applying the pink and green paint, I used water to thin the paint.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUHzW5gsHI/AAAAAAAAANc/zCR7dsZ3obw/s400/DSC_7089.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495807499177078898" />
Using a sponge paint brush I applied Martha Stewart Copper ink to give the box an antiqued look.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUPGCYyqoI/AAAAAAAAAN0/uh4oRD9DBE4/s400/DSC_7092.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495815516670044802" />
I lined the box with decorative paper.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUB1PYSoRI/AAAAAAAAAMs/rCSNNhmKauI/s400/DSC_7094.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495800934448668946" />
I then added the embellishments to GLAM it up. This is always my favorite part of a project. Now for a peek at the gift.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TEUI73FWp0I/AAAAAAAAANk/yrFdBsomVUs/s400/DSC_7083.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495808744767268674" />
The gift was a garter that I made for my niece's wedding. I smocked it with hearts and added a pearl at the bottom of each heart. The pearls that I used came from the brides great grandmothers jewelery. This was just a small way to have our grandmother with us at this special event.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TET8I0qSG_I/AAAAAAAAAMk/8Y5h_sFSHc0/s400/DSC_7097.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495794673803992050" />
I hope I have inspired you to do something creative that has a special meaning for you or someone in your family. I would love to hear how you will incorporate this idea into your crafting style so please leave me a comment.Becky Roperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11414924562942242896noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716895968183542054.post-46831499872019339122010-06-30T18:04:00.001-07:002010-06-30T18:19:12.051-07:00Monogrammed Wall Art<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TCvqBQDRVuI/AAAAAAAAAMc/wktBsvHxpKU/s400/DSCN0297.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5488737878090536674" />
My sons girlfriend is doing a room makeover. The theme of the room is zebra stripes. She found some zebra striped material and three pictures frames. She decided to put her initials in the three frames. Using the gypsy so that we could size her initials correctly we cut them out using Provo Craft Pink Vinyl and the font from the Winter Wonderland cartridge. They turned out so cute applied directly to the zebra striped material. This is a very quick and easy way to make a big impact on a room.

Thank you Bridget for allowing me to share your idea on my blog. Thanks to my readers for stopping by to visit. I have found that my favorite projects are altering items. I have a passion for picture frames. Over the past few months I have acquired quite a collection to alter. Today's project is a frame that I bought for just a couple of dollars because the mat inside the frame was damaged. Here is a picture of the damaged mat: <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TBgfoAM0aDI/AAAAAAAAALc/TjnO4G_Ijnc/s400/DSCN0268.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483167318432573490" />

I covered the damaged mat with pink paisley paper by The Paper Studio and then inked the edges and around the corners of the paper for added shading.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TBggb-C9DyI/AAAAAAAAALk/8bDXW4nkqfA/s400/DSCN0269.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483168211207524130" />

Around the inside edge of the frame I added my favorite "Spare Parts" by The Paper Studio as embellishments. These diamond shaped gemstones are my absolute favorite. I think I could add them to every project and never get tired of them. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TBghbHJqcRI/AAAAAAAAALs/k0RBjUmRQ80/s400/DSCN0271.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483169295983341842" />

I wanted the frame to have some dimension to it so on the outside of the glass I added my lettering "the Journey". I cut the letters using the gypsy font on vinyl that I picked up from Wal-Mart.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TBgigIPpJkI/AAAAAAAAAL0/QDcsFyTq_DA/s400/DSCN0275.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483170481687832130" />

I cut a corner scroll using the Home Accents cartridge, covered it with Glossy Accents and added pop-dots to the bottom of it so that it would be slightly raised off of the mat board.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TBgj2O1sGqI/AAAAAAAAAL8/pyWQcxEsykU/s400/DSCN0276.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483171960926771874" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TBgj2ZAn5sI/AAAAAAAAAME/qAQdKK2HYgE/s400/DSCN0279.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483171963656988354" />

The frame was all pretty and white but I favor the distressed look. Sanding down the inside and outside edges gave the frame exactly the look I wanted.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/TBglBJICMPI/AAAAAAAAAMM/sDTZjy2xhbc/s400/DSCN0284.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483173247883292914" />

I decided to use the frame in my craft room so using the Forever Young cartridge I cut the dress form using Best Occasions card stock and added it to contrasting green card stock also by Best Occasions. WOW, it's been a busy few weeks for me but hopefully things are winding down so I can get back to my craft room. My inspiration for today's post came from a sales ad I recently received via e-mail from Kirkland's, a Photo Holder.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_HSwW7MD4I/AAAAAAAAAKk/iPVYcGg1-pI/s400/DSCN0256.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472386750461251458" />

They are really quite simple to make. I started with Sculpey III Oven-Bake Clay from Hobby Lobby. It looked like this before I started.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_HTZJJkL8I/AAAAAAAAAKs/--NvuTCHuRY/s400/DSCN0235.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472387451138092994" />

Since I had never worked with clay before I wasn't sure how to shape it. I decided to slice it into three pieces. I took 1/2 of the block and kneaded it into one large piece. I sliced the other half into two pieces and left them as they were. Polk a hole in the clay using 16 gauge aluminum wire. Bake in the oven on 130 degrees for 30 minutes.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_HU7HSpuCI/AAAAAAAAAK0/-CpP0EWZD3c/s400/DSCN0236.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472389134266513442" />

While the clay is baking I shaped the wire. I tried several different gauges and found that I like the 16 gauge best. The wire can be found in the jewelry section at Hobby Lobby. I started the circles by wrapping the end of the wire around my finger.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_HV8AkO-4I/AAAAAAAAAK8/hGbdGm5o2Zo/s400/DSCN0241.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472390249152707458" />

Continue wrapping the wire using your fingers to slowly shape the wire into circles.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_HWz9vZFcI/AAAAAAAAALE/ZtwYjncVm_w/s400/DSCN0239.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472391210466874818" />

By the time I finished shaping up my 3 wires, the clay was ready to come out of the oven. After the clay cooled I inserted my wire into each clay piece.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_HXgbUHHJI/AAAAAAAAALM/o75HhWlAwkE/s400/DSCN0243.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472391974319758482" />

Now to the fun part. Using the Forever Young cartridge I cut 3 different ladies out. Since I haven't mastered cutting chipboard yet, I cut 5 each and layered them to be the same thickness as chipboard. I then used scrap paper to cut the clothes, umbrella, flower and hat. After adhering everything together I added glossy accents head to toe.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_HZOrVBbTI/AAAAAAAAALU/zZRO57Xyfj0/s400/DSCN0245.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472393868404157746" />

Then I hot glued the Ladies to the wire statues for three very Sassy Ladies.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_HSwW7MD4I/AAAAAAAAAKk/iPVYcGg1-pI/s400/DSCN0256.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472386750461251458" />

Thanks for stopping by today. Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts on this project and how you will be altering this idea to make it your own. Also, I would love for you to become a follower. Until next time, have fun creating!Becky Roperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11414924562942242896noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716895968183542054.post-28895005148294060692010-05-16T18:07:00.000-07:002010-05-16T18:34:37.161-07:00Baby Wreath<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_CXwlI2gWI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/qRsY7ePexZM/s400/DSCN0231.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472040408113906018" />
A young lady that I know is having her first little one. It's a girl. She is decorating her baby's room in pink, green and brown, flowers and butterflies. I went outside the norm and decided to use brown feathers instead of pink.

I made the flowers using Forever Young cartridge. I made 4 layers of the daisy and alternately used a solid color and a patterned color paper. I curled the petals using my finger.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_CYhO40QNI/AAAAAAAAAKE/mb--QuqJckE/s400/DSCN0216.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472041243954659538" />

I made the butterflies using Home Accents cartridge and embellished them with stickles.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_CZ2BStlxI/AAAAAAAAAKM/PLT3Gc-l6UI/s400/DSCN0224.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472042700594059026" />

I made the baby carriage with "It's a Girl" on it using the New Arrivals cartridge.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_CZ2ZqN8CI/AAAAAAAAAKU/Rj42lMWIy2g/s400/DSCN0219.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472042707135098914" />

So that the wreath can be interchangeable I used mini cloths pins to attach the flowers and butterflies to the wreath.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_CZ2n6pgsI/AAAAAAAAAKc/Sq5awBW5QHk/s400/DSCN0228.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472042710962111170" />

I then added a bow with flowers on it and here is my gift:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S_CXwlI2gWI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/qRsY7ePexZM/s400/DSCN0231.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472040408113906018" />

I hope you all had a great weekend. I want to say a big THANK YOU to Sheila for giving me this opportunity. I hope that I can bring you some creative and unique designs.

For my debate I decided to make a baby gift for someone very special to me and my family. Since the baby is a boy, I thought it would be exciting to do something with the Animal Kingdom cartridge. So, I got out my gypsy and started to design a name stand to display in the baby's room. Selecting the font from the Ashlyn's Alphabet cartridge was the easy part. Using the weld feature made it easy for the letter and the selected animal to be one image. My original idea was to cut the images using chipboard. It didn't take me long to figure out that I needed to research cutting techniques for chipboard. I had to re-route my thought process and decided to use the layering effect that I used on a previous project.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S8zqlSJqDtI/AAAAAAAAAG8/ts-C_y1znBY/s320/DSCN0158.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5461998374341971666" />
I cut 6 images from brown cardstock and layered them together which made them the same thickness as chipboard.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S8zstQgh1hI/AAAAAAAAAHE/mDr2DQYQCCA/s320/DSCN0159.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462000710363239954" />
I cut all of the images again using Wild Life paper and layered it to the top of my chipboard.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S8ztkYmxSoI/AAAAAAAAAHM/UjSUrn4-W6E/s320/DSCN0164.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462001657429707394" />
Next, I used the creative features on the Animal Kingdom cartridge to embellish the animals.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S8zukyTdXJI/AAAAAAAAAHU/UAnQ2f97QWw/s320/DSCN0165.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462002763839659154" />
Now on to building the base. You will need an unfinished wood plaque, dowel rods and wooden toy wheels.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S8zviWmBm6I/AAAAAAAAAHc/wDRxZwlUiu8/s320/DSCN0168.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462003821553228706" />
Using a hot glue gun, I glued the toy wheels to the plaque and inserted a dowel rod into each toy wheel.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S8zwM0mT_GI/AAAAAAAAAHk/aE4U7YlcJqs/s320/DSCN0169.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462004551162002530" />
Spray paint everything white. I used items I had on hand instead of buying new.

1. Grapevine wreath (I had for about 10 years)
2. Martha Stewart Pastel papers (stock)
3. 2 Pink Boas (previously purchased for baby shower decorations)
4. Double sided tape
5. Hot glue
6. Embellishments

I cut 5 layers of each item with my cricut and used double sided tape to secure them together. This layering effect made them thick enough to stand up. I wrapped the wreath with the two boa's. Last I added embellishments and hot glued the decorations to the boa's. I hope everybody had a Happy and Blessed Easter!Becky Roperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11414924562942242896noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716895968183542054.post-78060546129498468142010-04-01T18:24:00.000-07:002010-04-01T18:30:27.699-07:00AnnouncementI have a BIG announcement! I boxed up some of the card stock, did a quick tutorial on how to fold the paper and sent it to school with him last week. He has 3 really sweet friends and all three chipped in and helped him fold. Thank you Lisa, Katie and Kinsley!

As a thank-you to the 3 girls, I made them a thank-you basket. I won a door prize and the consultant handed me a box. I was soooo excited about winning the box, but to my dismay I did not actually win the box, I won one of the prizes that was in the box. Let me just say that I was VERY disappointed because I wanted the BOX. So Saturday morning I was cruzin through Wal-Mart and on one of their end caps they had these white boxes. Immediately I thought I have some paper almost like the BOX I wanted last night. So I bought two of the white boxes. I only photographed one for this part of the presentation.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S6ZsNaJfiyI/AAAAAAAAADw/VAhqL_ohmZk/s320/DSCN0127.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451163376591801122" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S6ZsNmLo0xI/AAAAAAAAAD4/Ux3cjvUAjf8/s320/DSCN0128.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451163379822023442" />

I then got to work. I used "The Paper Studio" paper to cover the boxes. I then added embellishments to the front of each box to add a little bling.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S6Zt3MSYZZI/AAAAAAAAAEI/XFADhJIgNr8/s320/DSCN0133.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451165193937118610" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S6Zt2tLzKuI/AAAAAAAAAEA/AcOz_fN9I9M/s320/DSCN0130.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451165185588013794" />

Then came the fun part adding my cricut creation to the inside of the box. I used The Forever Young cricut cartridge and selected model #7. I used plain black paper for the model and made her clothes using "My Minds Eye" paper from the "Summer Song" collection. All I can say about this is: OOH LA LA

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S6ZvbayJEKI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/rNI4ZSpo3Dw/s320/DSCN0129.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451166915815346338" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S6Zvbi3R0bI/AAAAAAAAAEY/iJ6M0D12HR8/s320/DSCN0132.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451166917984375218" />Becky Roperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11414924562942242896noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716895968183542054.post-51458894155762716652010-03-04T16:57:00.000-08:002010-03-04T17:00:02.142-08:00GypsyI bought the Gypsy today, I'm so excited. Michael's has a fantastic deal on them through March 6. They are $199 and Michael's is giving away the car charger with the purchase. And of course I had to buy the pink sleeve to put it in for protection. I can't wait to get it ready to start designing. More later!Becky Roperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11414924562942242896noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716895968183542054.post-87035325913622100222010-03-02T17:43:00.000-08:002010-03-02T18:15:22.243-08:00Sympathy CardA friend of my family passed away a few days ago. I made this card to send to the family. I used "French Flea Market" patterned paper by "My Mind's Eye" and matching card stock. I cut the card, envelope, frame and liner with my cricut using the Wild Card cartridge. The Cross on the front was cut using the Easter cartridge.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S42_2g8PT5I/AAAAAAAAADQ/nrP-bKDt7oY/s320/DSCN0106.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444218467837235090" />
I embossed the flap of the envelope with my cuttlebug.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S43CbKFQmaI/AAAAAAAAADg/t1BjFBeNKIw/s320/DSCN0108.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444221296379468194" />
I added purple ribbon around the cross. I used the same ribbon for the bow to close the card with. I then added some embellishments to give the card a more finished look.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qskIWArpFNs/S43CbbbPi0I/AAAAAAAAADo/4YQ4nGMWcmM/s320/DSCN0109.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444221301035076418" />
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think about the card.
